"Each of the performers had different strengths that the brought to the numerous roles that were accomplished through twenty scenes. Lounsbury, Weinstein,
Mitchell and Bauman created such interesting characters that were both funny and touching...Eggleston, Hayes, Wasko, and Mendoza are such skilled vocalists
in each of their styles and captured each emotion and moment of hilarity in their numbers.
I Will Be Loved
Single, dating, committed, or married, everyone has something to say about relationships. It does not matter if you are living your best life and not interested in settling down, or you are just waiting for that special someone to pop the question, it can be a maddening, frustrating, hilarious, and fun ride for all parties involved. In the musical comedy I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, book and lyrics by Joe Dipietro, music by Jimmy Roberts, and directed by Warren Weinstein, a cast of eight actors explore each stage of relationships through song, dance and skits. The show opened last weekend at Cyrano’s Theatre Company.
While the show is made up of small vignettes that are not all the same story, it follows a common chronological progression of relationships. The nervousness of a first date, to the problems that occur when you are out to dinner with someone whose conversation skills are lacking. Parental interference in our decisions about partners, and what happens when it is time to walk down the aisle. The comfort, and sometimes complacency that occurs when you are with a long-term love, and the inevitable loss of a partner whether it is to divorce or death. This is the updated version of the script for 2018, so if you have seen the original there is new material to discover in this production.
