Join us in welcoming RKP Productions for a special play reading of “Blue Ticket,” Wednesday, Feb. 1 at Cyrano’s Theatre Company. This rehearsed reading
will start at 6:00 pm at Cyrano’s and admission is free; donations accepted.
This new stage drama centers on a little known bit of Juneau history that occurred during the early 1960’s when gay people were identified and literally
run out of town by the local police with encouragement from the courts.
Juneau playwright Maureen Longworth has created a thoughtful and engaging story using fictitious characters based on her extensive interviews with
those that were directly and indirectly affected by the quite illegal actions. The play had an initial reading at Perseverance Theatre in Juneau,
but has never been fully staged.
The playwright will be present and will welcome comments and suggestions. We hope to see you there!
