Funny, Moving & Altogether Wonderful

Leo biked from Seattle to New York, but it's in a Greenwich Village apartment where his real journey begins. Reeling from a tragedy, the rudderless twenty-something arrives at the doorstep of his octogenarian grandmother, Vera, an old lefty navigating the rough waters of aging. Together, these two outsiders find their way. Directed by Krista M. Schwarting and featuring Linda Benson (Harold and Maude) and Jaron Carlson (All The Great Books), 4000 Miles by Amy Herzog, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize!
Pay-what-you Can Preview, 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4; Opens Friday, Sept. 5 and plays through Sept. 28.
Tickets available now at, the PAC Box Office or 263-ARTS.

Welcome Janet! We'll miss you Sierra!

We're throwing a potluck party, 6 pm, Sunday, Sept. 7, to thank Sierra for the wonderful job she has done for the health, well-being and smooth running of Cyrano's, and officially welcome Janet! Please bring something to share.

Sierra Ileta (above, left) has not only been the general manager for Cyrano's, but also stage manager for many CTC productions and other local theatre companies. During her days with us we discovered she could organize or do anything, and fully expect her to come back and do a benefit for us as a famous director, Broadway stage manager, dramaturg, celebrity model, noted theatre producer or all of the above. She will be missed by the entire theatre company when she departs Anchorage for her next adventure!

Janet Stoneburner (above, right) has worked with more than a dozen companies and casts and venues of all sizes as both stage and production manager. She is also a talented actress and director, knows everyone and has a wealth of great stories for all occasions! Janet will also direct CTC's Holiday Show, the musical version of ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY. We are most fortunate to be able to replace one backstage theatre goddess with another backstage theater goddess!

The Winter Bear Play + Community Involvement + Behavioral Health Support + Follow Up = The Winter Bear Project

CTC proudly produced the world premiere of "The Winter Bear" in 2010 and congratulates the continuing success of this very important play inspired by the life of Koyukon Athabascan elder Sidney Huntington. The Winter Bear Project combines the play with community outreach in the  mission to change the climate of fear and hopelessness that breeds suicide, help communities implement strategies for combating suicide and promote healing through the performing arts. It is now touring across Alaska.
