Ah Motherhood! With the birth of a new baby, one new mother discovers all the ways her life has changed. The joys, the angst, the confusion and more, in a comic musical journey that explores all of the changes that birthing a new life brings. THE MOMMY DANCE is a brilliant balance between humor and raw honesty… performs at the holidays at Cyrano’s!
Jill Bess and Darcy McMullen Kreger first brought this one-woman (and a pianist!) modern musical comedy to light 25 years ago, since has been expanded and now will be redeveloped with a new actress and under Jill’s expert direction!
Jill Bess, an Alaskan for over 30 years, is originally from Southern California, where she received her BA in Drama from the University of California, Irvine. Jill’s works include Crazy Like Me, The Frenchman and the Dutchman - A Love Story, Simple Melody (2014 Tennessee Williams Literary Festival finalist), No More, Confessions of a PK, This Stranger My Friend, Overboard, The Rapunzel Syndrome and several ten-minute pieces including The Ransom (LFTC Play Slam 2016), Waze and Means, Friday Night Lights, and her nationally award winning full length musical and one-woman show, The Mommy Dance. The Old Woman Who Lost Her Voice was first read at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference as part of their 2018 Play Lab.
